The best dental clinics in Albania πŸ‡¦πŸ‡±

Dentist treating a patient in a dental clinic in Albania

Choosing to have dental work done in Albania is mostly about saving compared to Europe. But saving shouldn't mean giving up on quality: prices that are too low can hide compromises on implants, materials and the dentist's experience.

That's why in our ranking price matters, but it comes AFTER quality. We prefer clinics that cost a bit more but use TOP-TIER materials and doctors with years of verifiable experience. A dental implant is surgically placed in the bone and needs to last: we don't compromise on materials or the doctor's expertise. The real advantage of Albania is spending far less than in Europe without giving up excellence.

Facilities are evaluated according to SalusAdvisor's editorial criteria, and the ranking is updated over time. SalusAdvisor may also have commercial relationships with some of the facilities featured on the portal. Any commercial relationship never determines scores or ranking positions: see how our rankings work.

How we score each clinic

The SalusAdvisor score you see next to each clinic (for example 9.5/10) is an editorial evaluation summarising the criteria below and the information available at the time of our review β€” not a healthcare certification, not a figure supplied by the clinic itself, and not a substitute for an individual clinical assessment.

  • Doctor's experience and continuity: How long the person performing the procedure has been practising, and whether the same professional follows the entire course of treatment.
  • Quality and traceability of implant systems: The brand, model and international reach of the proposed implant, so compatible components can still be sourced years later.
  • Prosthetic materials: The materials declared for crowns, prosthetics and final components.
  • Technology and ability to handle complex cases: Available diagnostic and digital equipment, and experience with cases requiring bone grafts or full rehabilitations such as All-on-4 and All-on-6.
  • Transparency of information: How clear the written quote is, and whether the clinic is willing to specify brands, materials and technique in writing.
  • Reviews and reputation: Other patients' experiences, when verifiable across multiple independent sources.
  • Support for international patients: Language support for international patients, travel arrangements, and how complications are handled once the patient is back home.
  • Value for money: Price weighed together with all the criteria above, never in isolation.

Portrait of Dr. Oresti Taci, founder and medical director of Galenus Dental Clinic

by Dr. Oresti Taci Implantologist, founder and medical director β€” over 25 years of experience, master's in oral surgery and implantology, collaborations with Italian and European university clinics

SalusAdvisor scoreScore 9.5/10
  • Dr. Oresti Taci performing a treatment in the surgery room
  • Waiting room at Galenus Dental Clinic

Galenus's philosophy is simple: offer standards of excellence comparable to the best clinics across Europe. That's why Galenus chose never to compromise on materials: it uses exclusively top-tier implant systems and materials, from Straumann, Hiossen, Dio Implant (premium line) implants to Zirkonzahn zirconia, down to grade-5 titanium bars from MESA Italia. No cheaper alternatives are sought to artificially lower the quote: the savings instead come from Albania's lower operating costs and, according to the clinic's own figures, can reach 60–70% compared to average European prices.

What really makes the difference is Dr. Oresti Taci, an implantologist with over 25 years of experience, who personally handles cases and procedures. One of his main strengths is precisely his command of complex, high-difficulty implantology: patients with severe bone atrophy and bone loss, very limited residual bone, the need for bone regeneration or grafts, full-arch rehabilitations, and situations that call for especially careful implant planning. It's precisely in the hardest cases that experience gained in the field becomes decisive.

Galenus is also the opposite of dental tourism's β€œassembly line”: it doesn't chase dozens of chairs, high patient volumes, or constantly interchangeable teams of dentists. It's deliberately a small, focused clinic, built around a direct relationship with Dr. Taci and the quality of each individual case. Top-tier materials, extensive clinical experience and zero compromise on quality: this, more than price alone, is why we've placed Galenus first in our ranking.

Our take? Based on the criteria we apply β€” the doctor's experience, materials, continuity of care and transparency β€” Galenus is, as things stand, our top pick in Albania: a combination we haven't found matched elsewhere with the same balance in our analysis so far. Dr. Taci has extensive experience in implantology and complex cases, and has built his reputation mainly on results and a direct relationship with his patients.

“An experience worth having with an exceptional surgeon who knew exactly how to direct my treatment and finally made me happy. Thank you, Dr. Oresti β€” I don't think another doctor could match him, both in professionalism and in humanity. Thank you, thank you, thank you. (translated from Italian)”

“I went to see Dr. Taci with my dad. What can I say beyond the warmth and kindness from him, his wife and his staff β€” the work they did was excellent. My dad had to redo his entire upper arch with implants and felt practically no pain. I only needed a single implant, and it took 20 minutes during which I felt nothing. It was a wonderful experience β€” I really think this will become our family dentist. (translated from Italian)”

  • Claudia Ilari

“I've been going to Dr. Oresti Taci for over 10 years, and I can say with absolute certainty that he's a serious, competent and reliable professional. His work is always precise, using high-quality materials and with great attention to the patient. He speaks perfect Italian, which makes every explanation clear and reassuring. I highly recommend him to anyone looking for a trustworthy, skilled and honest dentist. (translated from Italian)”

Before you choose: who will treat you, and with which implants?

During our research we noticed two things that often get less attention than price.

The first is knowing who will actually perform the procedure. Some large centres work with teams of numerous dentists and surgeons. A large facility can offer real organisational advantages, but we always recommend asking for the name, experience and role of the professional who will personally handle your case β€” especially when implants, All-on-4/6, bone grafts or full rehabilitations are involved.

The second is the implant system used. Not all implants are equal in clinical history, scientific documentation, international reach, and long-term availability of components. Before comparing two seemingly similar quotes, we recommend checking the implant's exact brand and model, origin, warranty, and whether an implant passport is issued.

A lower quote isn't necessarily a better deal: the doctor, the implant and the materials should all be weighed together with the price.

Other clinics we looked at

Galenus came out as our top pick, but Tirana is home to several other clinics worth considering for dental implants in Albania. Here are the other clinics we looked at, and what we recommend checking before choosing.

  1. #2 Β· City Dental Clinic CDC

    Tirana Editorial pick

    SalusAdvisor score 7.2/10

City Dental Clinic is a Tirana practice with a broad range of services, including advanced implant dentistry, oral surgery, and All-on-4/All-on-6 rehabilitations. The clinic states it uses several international implant systems β€” including MegaGen, Straumann, Schutz and Ankylos Dentsply β€” and also offers intravenous conscious sedation.

Worth checking: the team includes several practitioners; for complex implant treatment we always recommend confirming in advance which surgeon will personally handle your case.

  2. #3 Β· Sota Dental

    Tirana Editorial pick

    SalusAdvisor score 6.9/10

Sota Dental is a Tirana clinic particularly focused on implant dentistry and dental rehabilitation. It's one of the alternatives we considered for anyone looking into implant treatment in Albania.

Worth checking: before comparing the quote with other clinics, we recommend always asking for the exact brand and model of the planned implant system and the details of the final prosthesis.

  3. #4 Β· Toronto Dental Clinic

    Tirana Editorial pick

    SalusAdvisor score 6.8/10

Toronto Dental Clinic is a Tirana practice offering treatments for both dental health and smile aesthetics. It's a smaller operation than some of the capital's larger dental-tourism centres, and represents another option worth weighing in the local market.

Worth checking: for complex implant procedures, we recommend requesting a detailed treatment plan in writing, naming the responsible practitioner, implant system, and prosthetic materials.

  4. #5 Β· Implant House Albania

    Tirana Editorial pick

    SalusAdvisor score 6.7/10

Implant House Albania is a Tirana clinic also aimed at international patients. One notable point is its transparency about implant systems: the practice publicly lists Straumann solutions, including TLX and BLX. Dental-tourism services are also available, such as travel arrangements, transfers and accommodation.

    • Declared use of Straumann implant systems, including TLX and BLX
  5. #6 Β· The Clinic Tirana

    Tirana Editorial pick

    SalusAdvisor score 6.5/10

The Clinic Tirana is a dental practice in the Albanian capital with a modern setup and a range covering various dental needs. We've included it in our selection as one of the Tirana alternatives worth comparing before choosing.

Worth checking: for implant quotes, we recommend always checking the responsible surgeon, implant brand, materials used, and warranty terms.

  6. #7 Β· Dental Center Albania

    Tirana Editorial pick

    SalusAdvisor score 6.4/10

Dental Center Albania is an organised practice with several practitioners and an in-house dental lab. The clinic offers general, cosmetic and restorative dentistry as well as implantology, with the ability to manage several stages of prosthetic production internally.

    • Declared in-house dental laboratory

Worth checking: since the team includes multiple practitioners, for major procedures we recommend identifying the doctor responsible for the surgical phase in advance.

  7. #8 Β· Albanian Dental Travel

    Tirana Editorial pick

    SalusAdvisor score 6.3/10

Albanian Dental Travel is a Tirana practice also oriented toward patients arriving from abroad. It falls within Albania's dental-tourism segment and can be considered by anyone looking to organise treatment and their stay in Tirana.

Worth checking: before travelling, we recommend requesting a detailed clinical quote specifying implant systems, materials, the responsible doctor, and aftercare once you're back home.

  8. #9 Β· Family Dental Care

    Tirana Editorial pick

    SalusAdvisor score 6.2/10

Family Dental Care is a Tirana dental clinic that also serves the dental-tourism market. It offers various types of treatment and is one of several alternatives in the Albanian capital for international patients.

Worth checking: for full-mouth rehabilitation, we recommend comparing not just the final price, but also the implants, prosthetic materials, the surgeon's experience, and follow-up arrangements.

  9. #10 Β· International Dental Clinic

    Tirana Editorial pick

    SalusAdvisor score 6.0/10

International Dental Clinic is a practice in central Tirana also aimed at international patients. It rounds out our shortlist of ten clinics considered for anyone evaluating dental care in Albania.

Worth checking: as with any treatment abroad, we recommend requesting a written plan before travelling that clearly states procedures, materials, the professionals involved, and aftercare arrangements.

Why choose top-tier implants?

The price of a dental implant can vary widely, but the difference between a budget implant and a top-tier one isn't just about the cost of the component itself: it comes down to years of clinical literature behind it, documented success rates over long follow-ups β€” often 10 to 15 years or more β€” and surface quality, which supports better osseointegration with the bone.

There's also a practical side that's often overlooked: long-term availability of components. International brands like Straumann, Hiossen, Nobel Biocare or Zimmer Biomet are used by thousands of dentists worldwide β€” if a healing screw or abutment needs replacing ten years from now, virtually any dental practice can source the part and step in, even far from the clinic that placed the original implant.

With a little-known or obscure implant brand, that's not guaranteed: in the worst case, a minor issue can turn into a new surgical procedure. That's why, before choosing, we always recommend asking for the exact brand and model of the proposed implant in writing.

Why we prefer clinics with a single doctor

At large dental-tourism practices, work is often split across several dentists and surgeons: the person who does your first consultation isn't necessarily the one who performs the procedure, and the one who performs it isn't necessarily the one who handles your follow-up visits. It's a model that can handle high patient volumes, but it fragments clinical responsibility.

A single-doctor clinic removes that risk at the root: the person who reviews your X-ray, plans the treatment, performs the procedure and handles your follow-ups is always the same. They know your case from the very start, rather than reading about it in a colleague's notes.

It's also a matter of direct accountability: if something doesn't go as planned, you know exactly who operated and who's answerable for the decisions made. The honest trade-off is a lower capacity to handle high volumes and fewer available appointment slots β€” a compromise we think is worth it when everything else (experience, materials, transparency) is already at a high level.

The doctor's experience matters

Implantology β€” especially in complex cases such as significant bone atrophy, grafts, or full-arch rehabilitations like All-on-4 and All-on-6 β€” is a field where hands-on experience built up over the years makes a measurable difference to outcomes. A doctor who has handled thousands of cases has already encountered, and successfully managed, complications that a less experienced practitioner hasn't yet faced.

It's not just about years on paper: what really counts is the number of similar procedures performed, specialisation in complex cases, and the ability to plan a treatment correctly β€” avoiding both unnecessary bone grafts and, conversely, underestimating cases that genuinely need them.

Before choosing, check how many years the practitioner has been in practice, how many procedures similar to yours they've already performed, and whether their background β€” training, collaborations, documented cases β€” can actually be verified, not just claimed.

Conclusion

Traceable, high-quality materials, a single doctor who genuinely follows the whole journey, and years of verifiable experience with complex cases: in our analysis, these are the three criteria that really make the difference in treatment abroad β€” far more than simply finding the lowest price.

It's precisely by combining these three criteria that Galenus Dental Clinic stands out today as our top pick in Albania: Dr. Oresti Taci has been personally operating for over 25 years, uses exclusively premium implant systems and materials β€” including Straumann, Hiossen and Zirkonzahn β€” and is the clinic's sole doctor, which guarantees continuity from start to finish of treatment.
